*Sashkawihiwine is the Native American name given to to a particular place in the upper Delaware river, a place that was used by the Onondaga people for neighboring tribes to come into mediation and resolve their differences. The shamans recognized this spot because of the perfect circle that appeared in the river at this sacred spot . A council house was constructed . That council house has long since disappeared. Fast forward to early 2000, a retreat center called the Blue Deer Center was opened on the banks of this river. Again the circle appeared in the water. In this space, a few authentic teachers gather together to help people discover what is at the heart of all spiritual traditions
